Here's what it's all about

Race Information

I have a question!
 Need Directions!

1. When is it?
Saturday, October 30, 2010– start time: at 11:00am (registration from 9:00am to 10:30am)

2. Where does it start?
Downtown Denver will be the scene for the course. Start and finish location will be at the Wynkoop Brewing Company at 1634 18th Street, in Lodo.

3. How long is the route?
It is a fun, scenic route that will take you past most of Denver's main downtown attractions. The course is a 5.6K that will be easy for the walkers and kids. It is a nice flat course going through the heart of Denver, along the scenic bike paths on the Platte and Cherry Creek.

4. What does it cost to register?
To secure your place, all participants need to pay a non-refundable registration fee. The pricing structure is as follows:

6. How long will it take?
That depends on how fast you are. A 5.6K is exactly 3.5 miles and if you are running, it will probably take about 25-30 minutes. Last year's winning time was 17 minutes. For those walking the 5.6K, it should not take more than 1 hour.

7. Can I enter as a team or family?
Yes! You can create a team and enter as a theme gorilla team. For example: Hula Gorilla Team and you all wear hula skirts. There will be an awardfor the “The biggest team”. So, why not get your colleagues, sports team or even your real family to form a gorilla team? Last year our largest team was 24 gorillas!

8. How big are the gorilla suits?
The regular suits are a bit snug and “one size fits all” fitting up to 6' ft.  with a 50-inch chest. We also have a limited amount of XL suits that will fit to 6' 3ish.

Please call 720-524-0272 to reserve one.

Our suit for kids fit ages 7-9 or up to 4ft. tall.

9. Can I keep my gorilla costume?

Yes! You will never have to worry about what to wear to a fancy dress party ever again! Plus, you are set for Halloween.

10. When will I get my costume?
The gorilla suits will be available for pick-up at our office starting after October 1st during normal office hours (9-5pm). We will also have "Gorilla Gatherings" events at selected locations where you can collect your suits. The schedule will be posted in the "What up Now" section of the web site. If you live outside of Denver, we can mail your suit to you. Shipping and Handling will have to be charged. We have limited suits available, so register soon to secure your spot.

11. How can I get around the course?
BE CREATIVE!  You can run, walk, ride your bike, rollerblade, skateboard, unicycle, etc. We encourage everyone to take it easy, be safe and have fun. Please, nothing motorized will be allowed!

12. How much do I need to raise?
This year, all participants and Event Marshals are asked to set a target of $300.00 and all pledges are 100% tax deductible. Ask your friends, neighbors, family and colleagues to help support you in this very unique event. Since we have lowered our entry fee, this fundraising goal is now being stressed to get each gorilla out working to help us meet MGCF"s goals. Sponsorship is not required to participate.
