1. When is it?
Saturday, October 21, 2017

• 9am to 10:30am - Registration open
• 10:30am - Most Creative Costume Contest
• 11:00am - First wave of 5K starts
• 11:05am - Walkers start
• 11:30am - Silverback After Party begins
• 12:15pm - Awards Ceremony

2. Where does it start?
The 2017 event will take place at The Westin Westminster (10600 Westminster Blvd). Click here for course map.

3. Where do I park?
Parking is available in The Westin Westminster's east lot. Click here for map.

4. How long is the route?
The course is approximately 5K that will be easy for walkers and kids. If you are running, it will probably take about 25-30 minutes. Last year's winning time was 21:40 minutes. For those walking the 5K, it should not take more than 1 hour.

5. What does it cost to register?
To secure your place, all participants need to pay a non-refundable registration fee:

7. What comes with registration?
Along with entry into this fun event, first time gorillas and bananas receive a full suit...yours to keep! The gorilla suit comes with a gorilla mask and hands.

All participants receive entry into the Silverback After Party.

8. How big are the suits?
We will have four adult suits available:

Small: Fits most gorillas under 5' tall
Medium: Fits most gorillas 5' to 5'7"
Large: Fits most gorillas from 5'8" to 6'1"
Extra Large: Fits our Silverback from 6'2" up to 6'4"ish.

The suits might be a bit snug, but it all depends on the length of your torso.

Kid's suit sizes:
Small: Fits most little gorillas up to 4'4" tall
Large: Fits most little gorillas 4'5" to 4'11"

Please note: There will be a $20 additional charge for adult suit upgrades.

Bananas are one size fits all adults.

9. I want to register as a GROUP.
It's easy......Just have your leader (or Silverback) send a note to saveagorilla@yahoo.com or call 720-524-0272 for instructions on registering your group. Groups of 10 or more receive a 10% off registration discount. Note: This offer cannot be combined with other discounts.

10. Can I enter as a team or family?
Yes! You can create a team and enter as a theme gorilla team. For example: Hula Gorilla Team and you all wear hula skirts. There will be an award for the “The biggest team”. So, why not get your colleagues, sports team or even your real family to form a gorilla team?

11. Can I keep my gorilla / banana costume?
Yes! You will never have to worry about what to wear to a fancy dress party ever again! Plus, you are set for Halloween.

12. When will I get my costume?
We will have packet pick ups at selected locations where you can collect your gorilla / banana suit, race bag, and bib number. The schedule is posted in the "Suit Pick Up" section of the web site. The gorilla suits will also be available for pick-up at our office (4380 S. Syracuse St. #455 Denver, CO 80237). Important: Please call 720-524-0272 to make arrangements for office pick ups. If you live outside of Denver, we can mail your suit to you. Shipping and Handling fees will apply. We have limited suits available, so register soon to secure your spot.

13. Can a friend pick up my gorilla suit for me?
Yes! No problem. Friends or family members may pick up your gorilla suit. 

14. How can I get around the course?
You can run, walk, or push a stroller. Please note, there are dirt portions of the path and no wheels (bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters) will be allowed!

15. How do I become a fundraiser? 
Please help us save the mountain gorillas by becoming a fundraiser. We recommend setting a goal of $250. 100% of donations will go to support a project managed by the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund.  Ask your friends, neighbors, family and colleagues to help support you in this very unique event. 16. What's up with the Silverback After Party?
Food and 1 free Silverback Pale Ale will be provided for all Silverback After Party ticket holders. For participants, the Silverback After Party is included with event registration.

17. How can we get extra tickets?
Good news.....we will be offering extra tickets for friends and family. Each ticket is $10 and will provide access into the Silverback After Party, 1 free Silverback Pale Ale, visits to all the restaurant tents, and music. Tickets are available during registration or click here to purchase.

18. Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are allowed on the course and may join you for the Gorilla Run. Please follow all leash laws and clean up after your pets. We also ask that you avoid bringing dogs near the food tents at the Silverback After Party.

19. Coming in from out of town?
